Ayurveda is a 5000 year old science from India designed to return humans to a state of balance with nature. This training introduces the Massage Therapist to traditional principles which are then applied into individualized sessions with clients. The techniques taught in this class involve using warm herbal infused massage oils for detoxification and rejuvenation of the physical, emotional and mental body of the client. By attending this course, students will be able to:
-Discuss basic principles of Ayurvedic Dosha Theory.
-List the indications and contraindications for application.
-Explain the effects of Abhyanga on the body/mind/spirit.
-List which oils and herbs shall be used in specific situations.
-Create an ideal layout for an Abhyanga treatment room.
-Perform the Abhyanga comfortably-2 and 4 handed
