Our very own model

Our very own model

Katie is a honor roll student and Myrtle Beach Middle school, but she is also our very own, “Elements Day Space Model”. She is the daughter of Juli Hudson a Massage Therapist here at the spa, and has been modeling since she was 9. Now that she’s almost 13 she is ready to make it big. Her online modeling portfolio can be viewed at www.onemodelplace.com model ID 214124.
Katie was asked to join Dreamdare, Inc. to be Miss November in the “Butterfly Vixens” 2010 calendar. Proceeds from sales will benefit charities related to Spinal Cord Injury research, Cancer research, Heart disease research, Autism and Leukemia research and families in need. Calendars can be purchased online atwww.cafepress.com/butterflyvixens.
She is excited for her 1st fashion show in Columbia on Nov. 7th. The weekend after that, she will be part of the NDN Mid Atlantic Modeling Convention here in Myrtle Beach, where Casting Directors and Agents from LA, NYC, Atlanta and Charlotte will be scouting for new talent. There will be models from 8 states competing. She will do runway, present a headshot photo and a fashion photo, and then do a cold read for a commercial.
We wish her all the best…Who knows since she is using Dr Hausckha Skin Care products, she may be our Elements “face of the future”.

Happy Birthday Katie

Look Good…Feel Better®

Recently I have had the honor of volunteering my time with a free public service program for women cancer patients known as Look Good…Feel Better® It is a free, non-medical, product-neutral program offered in partnership with the American Cancer Society, the National Cosmetology Association and The Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association (CTFA)Foundation.
I teach beauty techniques and tips to women cancer patients in active treatment to help them combat the appearance- related side effects of cancer treatment. I get to hang out with a bunch of ladies and play with make-up. After our last class I was given a few hugs and some very kind words from these ladies. That made my day even better.
One of the side effects that you may all know of is hair loss. This can be a tough transition for some and having some sort of head cover helps patients cope.
The American Cancer Society offers wigs, turbans and scarves to patients at no cost, yet the supplies are very low. I was told on Monday that we need more, so I have set up a collection here at the spa for them.
Here at Elements Day Space we offer make-up application to patients in active treatment at no charge as long as they bring their own make-up. I would like to do more for these women and with your help we can.
So from now until November 23, 2009 we are collecting wigs, turbans, scarves, knit/crochet hats and party hair pieces. In return for your generous donations, for any wig we will give you $30 off of any service above $50. As well as all other items donated we will give $15 off any service above $30.
Remember that this can help patients cope so foreward this letter to friends and family. You can use it towards your referral reward also.
